Secretary of the DPW Indonesian Migrant Workers Union (SBMI) East Java, Agung Subastian confirmed the news.
“In that photo, Asih's mother is in poor condition because she has had a stroke and cannot speak at all,” he said to Kompas.com, Saturday (2/3/2024).
Agung said, His party received this news from several PMI organizational networks in Malaysia.
“I received photos and WA messages on Friday 1 March 2024 yesterday afternoon. He said there were Banyuwangi residents who had been neglected because of cancer and stroke and were unconscious,” he said.

Update on the victim's position

In the passport found, the victim's date of birth is written 6 May 1979 in Jember Regency. Meanwhile, the passport was made on 2020.
“But this cannot yet be a benchmark, because we have to cross-check the accuracy of the data again at the Jember Immigration office,” he explained.
Meanwhile for the victim's position, currently in Kuala Ampang, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The person concerned is being cared for by fellow PMI.
“The information is that before she became ill, Asih's mother had been helped home by taking care of it at the Indonesian Embassy. But because it hurts, he must ask for a health certificate from the hospital,” he said.

Agung explained, Currently, the East Java SBMI DPW has coordinated with several SBMI DPLN Malaysia networks and administrators.
His party will also coordinate with the Indonesian Embassy and the Immigration Office.
