Climbing Mount Raung via Kalibaru Will Reopen Soon, Limited to the Top of the Flag

The reopening of the climbing route was announced through an announcement letter issued by the Mt Raung Secretariat.

The announcement letter was signed by the Head of the Mt Raung Priyono Secretariat and the Head of Wonorejo Hamlet, Dimas Wahyu Pramana..

When confirmed, Dimas confirmed the plan to open the climbing route Mount Roung via Kalibaru.

Dimas said, The secretariat has coordinated with PVMBG and Perum Perhutani regarding plans to reopen the climbing route.

Opening of climbing routes, he said, will be adjusted to the recommendations previously issued by the Geological Agency.

In the recommendations issued when Mount Roung raise status to level 2 or alert it, the public or tourists are prohibited from approaching at a distance 3 kilometer (km) from the summit crater.

So therefore, The opening of the climbing route will only be open to Puncak Bendera or the vegetation limit.

“This is in accordance with the Geological Agency's recommendations, the distance is approx 3 kilometer (km) from the top of the crater,” said Dimas.

later, Prospective climbers must sign a letter on a stamp stating their willingness to comply with these restrictions.

“For visitors who violate, Any risks that arise will be the responsibility of each visitor,” continued Dimas.
