Head of Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Banyuwangi, Fajar Susana said, On average, villages with a high potential for being affected by a tsunami are in the southern region, while in the city area itself it is relatively moderate. Apart from relying on information from the Early Warning System early tsunami detection tool (EWS), BNPB also carries out training and establishes Disaster Resilient Villages (Epic) as a community preparedness effort, especially at the highest points affected by the tsunami.
