Radarbanyuwangi.id – Four years as a fugitive from the police, Gavin Edward Leeder, 51, from Australia who is now a resident of Yudomulyo Hamlet, Ringintelu Village, Bangorejo District, arrested by members of the Bangorejo Police on Friday (22/3).

Gavin has been on the wanted list for quite some time (DPO) cases of domestic violence (domestic violence).

Gavin was reported to have abused his wife, Come on Pujiani, 45, residents of Yudomulyo Hamlet, Ringintelu Village, Bangorejo District.

"We arrested the person concerned at his ex-wife's house," explained Bangorejo Police Chief AKP Sutarkam through the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit Ipda Gatot Suryawan.

Gavin visited Yayuk's house to visit his son. The man from Australia has been missing for four years.

"We received a report that the suspect had come to his ex-wife's house and we immediately arrested him,” explained Gatot.

The Bangorejo Police received a domestic violence report on 2 March 2020 around 09.30. At that time the victim reported to the police because her husband had abused her, Gavin Edward Leeder.

"The victim admitted that he was abused at the fitness training center in Kebonrejo Hamlet, Kebondalem Desa Village, Bangorejo District," he explained.

At that time the perpetrator came and had an argument with the victim. The perpetrator pulled the victim's hair with his right hand and pushed her until she fell.

"From the victim's statement, such violence occurs frequently,said Gatot.

Because she often becomes a victim of her husband's violence, The victim lost patience and chose to take legal action.

"At that time, we immediately processed the report, but the perpetrator disappeared,said Gatot.

When summoned for questioning, the perpetrator never came. Even, no follow up call either.
